On today’s classic edition of Family Talk, Mike Yankoski, the author of Under the Overpass, shares with Dr. James Dobson his experience of going undercover to learn how the homeless community lives. Throughout his five-month journey, he lost 25 pounds, grew his hair and beard, and eventually repelled people by his body odor. As Mike ate out of the trash, was ignored, and even witnessed a violent encounter, he felt dehumanized and disgusting. His experience gave him increased Christ-life compassion for those who really are homeless.
